Ink Drawings

Ink drawings played a profound role in the inner life of Robin Glassman. Everyone who encountered her added that she could not sit still and doing nothing so she just sat down and drew. Her inner being was expressed in these works, uncensored and unfiltered. Her practice sustained and nourished her, allowing her to feel complete. A skill she has developed over time became a part of her daily ritual.

Since the pandemic, I’ve filled 8 books just drawing and recording my daily activities: journaling and doodle drawing while engaging in jewishspiritual practices, drawing while my husband reads aloud Ulysses, and much more.

Recently, the last 3 months, my sketchbook has been more therapeutic, working towards emotional wellness, so I can once again engage in life more fully.

When I used to be out and about, my sketchbook was a travel log  and always with me.  Now at home, these books illustrate more directly the passing of time.  They shown me where I’ve been this year and lately I’ve been reflecting on the spiritual and creative activities which has sustained me through the first 8 months of lock down.  It’s comforting to see myself in a full spectrum of emotional, physical, spiritual states.  That’s what being human is about.  Happy to be able to share my humanness with you.”
